Daniel Slater

Software engineer in Cape Town.

  • Nsuna (2024 – now): full-stack engineer on a hospitality platform. Go and Python services, GraphQL, Svelte web front-ends, a React Native app, and a real-time voice AI assistant built on LiveKit.
  • Leachie (2026 – now): building leachie.com, a small web studio for small businesses.
  • University of Cape Town, CERECAM (2021 – 2023): lecturer in computational mechanics (finite element methods, continuum mechanics, nonlinear material behaviour). MSc(Eng) Mechanical Engineering, with distinction.

Public work

  • paramaterial: Python package for repeatable mechanical test-data processing, on PyPI.

Most of my day-to-day work is in private repositories (Nsuna on GitLab, client sites and tooling for Leachie).
