Hi,

I am having a lot of trouble trying to get this installed and configured.

First off I had to update the project to the latest version since PCF 1.x went live. That wasn't too hard to figure out. Then I was able to get it compiled into a managed solution.

But now adding it to the form, it asks for 3 variables. I am giving it the correct SharePoint URL... I found that it doesn't seem to matter what I give to the regarding object id (or at least accepts the name of the record which is what I accidentally gave it instead of the GUID).

For the Flow URL we have an issue as I created the flow, but the URL to the flow is almost double in length compared to the max length of the Custom Control Customization settings. This has resulted in a corrupt 0 byte file getting added. So I am close but unable to finish configuring it. The Flow URL parameter also doesn't let me bind to a field on the entity/form.

Max length has no impact on parameter binding on the form. I had the same issue. I solved by changing the max length of the textbox of the bound parameter using Developer Tools.

Hi, Thanks.. I did actually figure it out in the end and did just that. It seems the limit on the static text when configuring a custom control is 100 characters. I managed to get it working after a switched the parameter from text area to just text. Textarea wasn't showing any fields to bind to. I plan on using your control on a project, so thanks for writing it, gives me a jumpstart. I'd suggest some enchantments to the parameters though. For the regarding ID, it doesn't even seem to use that just FYI. For the sharepoint url I'm planning to pull that from the sharepoint site entity (just grabbing the default record). The file url I was thinking of just using the sharepoint api to get the file content. Those changes will make it more deployable and easier to configure. @amitjesani I had to update the ControlManifest.Input.xml file and set the FlowURL Property's of-type from SingleLine.Textarea to SingleLine.Text. Recompile and re-install. Then I was able to bind it to a field and just made sure the field had the flow url in it.

You will likely need to perform the changes I noted and re-compile… the length of the flow URL was just too long for the type of field specified in the control manifest. As for the parameters sorry but I can’t recall the setup to that level of detail. It has been a while since I used the control… I vaguely recall those being in the query string of the url, but don’t quote me. @dynamicscode AK I really need your input here on the parameters:

SharePoint Site URLs
I have bound this to the SharePoint Online location of the documents.

Flow URL
I have bound this to a Single Line of Text (Text Area - 4000). In this field I'm storing the Flow URL end point (HTTP GET URL).
I haven't recompiled the Control because the binding is working.

When I run the solution the dialog is correctly displayed showing the documents. I select a document and click Attach. At this point the Flow is executed but it fails with this error message:

Unable to process template language expressions in action 'Get_file_content_using_path' inputs at line '1' and column '6336': 'The template language expression 'triggerOutputs()?['queries']['spsite']' cannot be evaluated because property 'spsite' cannot be selected.

I am guessing this is because I haven't configured the parameters (spsite and spfilepath) but I'm confused on how to do this.

The solution to the parameters was to add the following to the end of the FlowURL:
&spsite={0}&spfilepath={1}

This is a great PCF however it's a shame the author provided no configuration notes and doesn't seem interested in providing any support. Be warned it's buggy too, you have to save and refresh every step of the way to make it work.

Hey Sam!

I'm having issues getting the control to show up on the form. Did you create a custom field (column, damn you Dataverse) and add the control to that?
I can't wrap my head around binding the control to a field that's not the regardingobjectid-field.

You create a regular Single Line of Text and bind it to that. Use the classic designer to do the bindings.

Did you ever resolve the issue with the Flow URL being way to long without binding it to a field on the form?
If not, how did you deploy the PCF with updated Flow URL? (Granted, the "adding flows to solution" might not have been a thing when you were figuring these things out)
